Alberta Theatre Projects
Celebrating their 50th anniversary, Alberta Theatre Projects (ATP) is thrilled to share a four-play season that includes Canadian superstar Paul Gross in their season opener, The Seafarer, a dark comedy by Tony-nominated playwright, Conor McPherson. For the holiday season, one of the most popular productions in ATP’s history, E.B. White’s heartwarming classic Charlotte’s Web returns to warm the hearts of all ages. And that’s just the beginning! Arts Commons Presents
The three signature series of Arts Commons Presents return for the 2024-25 season with the impactful stories and imagery of National Geographic Live, the best of classic music recreated live on stage with Classic Albums Live, and performances from around the world with BD&P World Stage. This season of National Geographic Live takes audiences from lush rainforests to bubbling lava fields, and to the bottom of the ocean. Classic Albums Live shares the history-making albums of Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, and The Rolling Stones while BD&P World Stage shares an adrenaline-fueled urban circus, a tango performance for all, and an orchestral collaboration that celebrates the one and only Bob Marley. Downstage
After a hugely successful season, Downstage is gearing up for 3 world premieres in 2024-25 as well as a collaboration with two of Arts Commons resident companies! Downstage's upcoming season questions FORM and will incorporate some wild theatrical styles that will stoke conversation and energize you as only the live performing arts can! Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra
The Calgary Phil’s recently announced 2024/2025 promises to be a stunning showcase of the Orchestra’s full ability, serving as a celebration for the achievements of Rune Bergmann, who has announced that the season will be his last as Music Director.
The season boasts superstar guests including the legendary Yo-Yo Ma, JUNO Award-winning violinist James Ehnes, and pop-sensation Kiesza. A sure highlight for music lovers of all ages is February’s A Tribute to Bob Marley, which coincides with the late reggae icon’s’ 80th Birthday. Co-presented by Calgary Phil, Arts Commons, and Jones & Jones Productions, this brand-new orchestral experience celebrates Marley’s message of peace and unity in a powerful showcase of his inspiring songs, performed by the Orchestra and conducted by Christopher Dragon, alongside guest vocalists Ammoye, Steele, Omega Mighty, Soji Joseph, and a live band. One Yellow Rabbit
Renowned in Calgary for the beloved festival celebrating the live performing arts, the High Performance Rodeo, One Yellow Rabbit promises a line-up of fun, uplifting, wacky, and unexpected theatre for the upcoming 2024-25 season and the 2025 High Performance Rodeo. Theatre Calgary
Theatre Calgary’s 2024-25 season is a great lineup for any theatre lover, from comedies to classics, with returning directors and beloved Calgary actors, it’s just what you’re looking for. Starting off their season The Play That Goes Wrong welcomes back former Theatre Calgary artistic director Dennis Garnham in a comedic play-within-a-play. Next up, a coproduction with Arts Commons Presents, The Lehman Trilogy welcomes director Sarah Garton Stanley (SGS), to help bring the complex, Tony Award-winning epic to the stage.
