Dazzling Puppets Amaze Families and Dinosaur Lovers of all Ages

Roaring onto the stage this spring, Dinosaur World Live is an epic live show for families and young audiences that brings the ancient past to life! The story follows Miranda who has grown-up on a far-off island where dinosaurs never went extinct. The true stars of the show are the larger-than-life puppets designed to be as lifelike as possible operated by expert puppeteers. The smallest fits comfortably into the puppeteer’s arms, and the largest needs four people to move it!

Making Waves with Whales

Throughout the month of March, students of all ages were hard at work making some rather large creations. The whales, one bowhead and two orcas, not only helped them learn about ocean ecosystems but also gave the opportunity for them to get messy creating something truly unique. Each whale was constructed from recycled materials led by Dean Bareham, artist director of Green Fools Theatre.

Arts Commons Transformation Project Expansion Design Announcement

After two years of meticulous planning and design work, Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC) and its partners at Arts Commons and The City of Calgary are thrilled to reveal the architectural design for the Arts Commons Transformation expansion. Behind the expansion’s design is a team of internationally recognized architects and designers from Toronto’s KPMB Architects, Calgary’s Hindle Architects, and Arizona’s Tawaw Architecture Collective.

Transforming Calgary’s Arts Scene

On Friday, March 22, Alberta’s government announced that it will be coming to the table with historic funding of $103M to Arts Commons over seven years to transform Calgary’s downtown into a premium destination to take in the arts.
