Calgary Philharmonic fuses sonic power this winter with performance of Brahms X Radiohead

Back by popular demand following a sold-out performance in 2019, don’t miss the return of conductor Steve Hackman’s epic symphonic synthesis, Brahms X Radiohead, featuring the full Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and three solo vocalists on Saturday 28 January at the Jack Singer Concert Hall. Presented in partnership with One Yellow Rabbit’s High Performance Rodeo, this fusion of Johannes Brahms’ Symphony No. 1 and Radiohead’s OK Computer offers a re-imagining of each work through the lens of the other, exploring the explosive tension they each have in common.

The Inside Track on the World Premiere of Ragtime: A Concert Performance

Something monumental is coming this June for Calgary arts fans - Arts Commons, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, and Theatre Calgary are coming together for an unprecedented creative collaboration. In three performances, Ragtime: A Concert Presentation will merge the songs of the smash-hit Broadway musical with the renowned acoustics of the Jack Singer Concert Hall on June 11 & 12, 2022.

Collaboration with Making Treaty 7 tells traditional Blackfoot story through music and drama 

A new online production combining drama and music is bringing a traditional Blackfoot story to life. Napi and the Rock, a collaboration between Making Treaty 7 Cultural Society and the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, celebrates local Indigenous culture through an engaging musical performance for families. The concert was pre-recorded in the Jack Singer Concert Hall and will be available to the public for free at calgaryphil.com starting Saturday, November 20.

Calgary Philharmonic Welcomes New President + CEO - Meet Marc Stevens

When the Calgary Philharmonic performs for a live audience for the first time in a year and a half, it will signify a new beginning in more ways than one. Marc Stevens officially joins the organization as President + CEO in September 2021, following the retirement of Paul Dornian, and is just as eager and excited as the musicians to see the Orchestra back onstage this month and to get Fall 2021 Concerts off and running.
