Why Jann Arden Thinks Christmas is the Most Wonderful Time of the Year
Singer, songwriter, author, and beloved Canadian icon, Jann Arden has done it all. Starred in her own television show, taken home multiple JUNO Awards, and even secured a spot on Globe and Mail’s bestseller list. What you might not know about her is that she loves Christmas – a lot.
There is rarely a holiday season where Jann hasn’t brought her magnetic presence to a stage in December. When closed theatres during the COVID-19 pandemic made that impossible, she produced a Christmas special with CTV, JANN Alone for The Holidays. She’s now so well known for this festive spirit that her fans dubbed her “Janta.”
On December 19 & 20, you can join “Janta” and Arts Commons Presents at the Jack Singer Concert Hall with family, friends, or simply in the company of fellow music lovers for an evening of holiday music, light-hearted stories, and the best of Jann Arden’s hits with A Jann Arden Christmas.
“I know for me [growing up] I couldn’t function the three weeks leading up to Christmas. It was a palpable excitement. I can’t even it explain it to you. Everybody seemed to be getting along in the house, there was so much excitement, food prep, and my mum was always trying new recipes and it was always so exciting,” says Jann Arden, reminiscing about Christmas when she was a child.
