A New Kind of Circus with 360 ALLSTARS

A New Kind of Circus with 360 ALLSTARS

Called “a fantastic display of ridiculous talent” by The Voice magazine with “jaw-dropping feats of strength, agility, dexterity and bravado” (Play To See), 360 ALLSTARS is an all-ages show that has been making waves around the world. Their formula of high-octane urban artistry combined with the best parts of a circus performance makes for a show that’s both mesmerizing and fresh.

“Everybody was headhunted specifically for the show,” says director and percussionist Gene Peterson. “When I was putting together the concept of the show, I had this whole idea of 'what is awesome, and how many different types of awesome can we get on one stage?'” From there Peterson brought together World Champions including BMX Flatlander Peter Sore, breakdancers B-Boy Leerok and B-Boy Sette, and Basketball Freestyler Roue Cyr to name a few, and set about creating a show in which all of their unique talents would flow together into something astounding. And it worked!

“In this show we’re replacing stereotype traditional circus art forms with contemporary street styles. Instead of acrobats we have breakdancing, instead of a juggler we have a basketball freestyler, instead of a unicyclist we have a BMX rider and so on. So all of these art forms are an urban twist if you will, on traditional stereotype circus art forms,” says Peterson.

To get your adrenaline fix, check out 360ALLSTARS on November 29, 2024 as part of BD&P World Stage from Arts Commons Presents, one night only in the Jack Singer Concert Hall at Arts Commons. Learn more today at artscommons.ca/360.
